Post Publication Discussion Policy

Policy Statement

SAINSTECH: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengkajian Sains dan Teknologi welcomes questions, comments, responses, and scholarly discussions concerning articles that have already been published. These may be submitted by readers, researchers, and other interested parties. This policy aims to support the exchange of knowledge, clarify research findings, and maintain the integrity of scholarly publishing. Post-publication discussions are received through communication with the editorial team and are not automatically published or made publicly available.

Scope of Discussion

Post-publication discussions may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Questions or requests for clarification regarding research methods, data, analysis, and interpretation of findings.

  2. Scholarly responses or critical comments on the findings and conclusions of an article.

  3. Identification of research limitations or opportunities for further research.

  4. Additional information or evidence relevant to the content and reliability of a published article.

Discussions must relate to the scholarly content of the article and be presented professionally, objectively, and with relevant reasoning or supporting evidence.

Submission of Discussions

Readers, researchers, or other interested parties who wish to discuss an article published in SAINSTECH may contact the editorial team through the journal's official email address: lp2m@istn.ac.id. Messages should include the title of the article concerned, a description of the question or comment, and any relevant supporting evidence or references, where available.

Editorial Assessment and Follow-Up

The editorial team will review submitted discussions to assess their relevance and determine appropriate follow-up actions. Where necessary, the editor may request additional information or contact the authors of the relevant article for clarification. Receipt of a discussion does not guarantee that every message will receive a response or result in editorial action. Follow-up decisions will depend on the substance of the discussion, the available information, and its relevance to the integrity or reliability of the article.

Confidentiality and Ethical Conduct

Discussions received through the editorial email address are handled as communications between the sender and the editorial team. SAINSTECH does not publish or publicly disseminate the content of these discussions as part of its post-publication discussion process. Information received will be handled professionally, taking into account confidentiality and the needs of editorial assessment. Where necessary to evaluate an issue, the editor may contact the authors or other relevant parties on a limited basis. Individuals submitting discussions are expected to provide information honestly, respectfully, and responsibly, and to avoid making allegations that are not supported by evidence.

Relationship with Other SAINSTECH Policies

If a discussion raises concerns about suspected research or publication misconduct, SAINSTECH will handle the matter in accordance with its research misconduct policy. If an assessment identifies an error or issue requiring action concerning a published article, the matter will be handled in accordance with the journal's correction and retraction policy. Post-publication discussion serves as a channel for scholarly communication and does not, in itself, indicate misconduct or an error in the article.
